A Legacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Gua Sha massage comes from Chinese tradition: a stone glides over oiled skin in long, sweeping strokes. This one is carved from jade stone, and its sculpted edges hug the curves of your thighs, tummy and arms. The cool touch of the stone and the repeated strokes leave your skin smooth, supple and toned, with a fresh, cool feeling that our customers mention first.

A Legacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine

With a Massage Oil

The Gua Sha is designed to be used with a massage oil to help it glide. Work from the bottom up in long, steady strokes, avoiding firm pressure during the first few days. Ten to twenty minutes in the evening on your legs or tummy: a relaxing massage that leaves your skin feeling soft and comfortable to the touch.

Questions & Answers
What is Gua Sha?

The Gua Sha is a traditional massage tool of Asian origin. Its shape is perfect for a broad, sweeping massage, gliding the stone over oiled skin from bottom to top. It can be used on different parts of the body, including the tummy, legs and arms.

Why use a Gua Sha?

A Gua Sha is a treasured tool for a sweeping, regular massage of the body. The cool touch of the stone and the repeated strokes leave your skin smooth, supple and toned, with that fresh, cool feeling our customers mention first after every session.

Why use the Gua Sha with massage oil?

The massage oil makes the whole session: it helps the Gua Sha glide more easily over the skin, making the massage more pleasant and comfortable. While you massage, the oil also nourishes the skin.

How is Gua Sha massage practised?

A Gua Sha massage is a stone massage done in long, slow, sweeping strokes, working from the bottom up. Done regularly, it leaves your skin smooth and supple, with a lovely fresh feeling.

What is jade stone and what are its benefits?

Jade is a natural stone that is cool to the touch by nature. During the massage, this cool contact soothes the skin and makes the session deeply relaxing: a moment to release the tension of the day. The skin stays smooth and supple after the massage.

Can gua sha be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

We recommend not using it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It is always best to consult your doctor before using any cosmetic product during these periods.

My heavy legs solution for the past 3 months

Since starting a sedentary desk job, my legs had become a real nightmare in the evenings — heavy and swollen around the ankles. I'd tried cold-effect gels from the chemist, cold baths, even compression socks... nothing lasted. It was my sister-in-law, who's a physio, that told me about the jade gua sha — she thought the concept was interesting for drainage. I ordered it without much conviction. The first few days I had to get to grips with the tool, find the right pressure, the right angle. I do my massages in the evening after my shower, 15-20 mins on my calves and thighs, always working upwards, with a bit of oil so it glides. After 10 days I noticed my legs felt less tense. By 3 weeks it was really noticeable: no more swelling in the evenings, and the skin on my thighs felt smoother to the touch. Now it's been 3 months and it's become automatic, like brushing my teeth. The cool feel of the jade is so soothing, especially in summer. People at work asked if I'd taken up sport again because my legs looked so different. Compared to the drainage sessions I used to have at £55 a go at a salon, it's paid for itself ages ago.

Slow results and a frustrating learning curve

I wanted to tackle water retention on my legs and tummy — I'd seen loads of positive reviews so I ordered it. The stone is lovely, that's true, the jade feels nice and cool to the touch. But the beginning was tricky. I pressed too hard the first few times and ended up with bruises on my thighs, not great. And you really have to be super consistent — for 2 weeks I saw absolutely nothing and I was pretty disappointed. After about a month and a half, using it 4 times a week, yes my legs do feel a bit lighter in the evenings. But it's not the spectacular result I was hoping for. There's no proper detailed guide in the box for beginners, which doesn't help. I'll carry on for another month to see if things improve.

My anti-heavy-legs ritual for 4 months

Since I started working from home I move around much less than before, and my legs made me pay for it every evening: heavy, swollen, sometimes even painful. I'd tried compression socks, cold gels from the pharmacy, nothing really worked long-term. My sister-in-law told me about the jade gua sha, she used it for her face and said the body version existed. I ordered one out of curiosity. Honestly the first few days I struggled with how to use it, I didn't really know how much pressure to apply. But after a week I'd found my rhythm: every evening after the shower, 15-20 minutes on the legs with oil, always moving upwards towards the heart. After 2 weeks the heavy feeling had noticeably decreased. Today it's been 4 months and it's become automatic. My ankles don't swell anymore, my skin is smoother on my thighs and I sleep better. My beautician even said my circulation seemed to have improved. The stone stays naturally cool, it's super pleasant. Honestly it's well worth the £50 drainage sessions at the salon I used to pay for.

My legs come alive in the evening

I'm on my feet all day and by evening my legs were absolutely shattered. Since I've been using the gua sha after the shower with a bit of oil, it's night and day. The stone stays cool, it's really lovely. It's been 3 weeks and I can really feel the difference.

Top quality but bit of a learning curve

So the stone itself is really beautiful, it has a good weight in your hand and the cooling effect of the jade is super pleasant on the skin. Nothing to fault there. My issue is it took me a while to figure out how to use it properly. In the first sessions I pressed too hard and ended up with bruises on my thighs, not very glamorous... I had to watch tutorials to understand the right technique and pressure. And results-wise you really have to be consistent, I didn't see anything before a good 3 weeks. After 6 weeks now my legs are lighter in the evening and the skin is a bit smoother. Maybe a more detailed illustrated guide in the box would help beginners like me. Despite that I keep my ritual going because the effects are there, you just can't expect instant miracles.

A real GAME CHANGER for my heavy legs!!

So girls, honestly I had to share my experience because I'm absolutely buzzing!!

I'm 32, work in sales so on my feet ALL day, and since my pregnancy 2 years ago I had lead legs in the evening... I'd tried compression socks (not glamorous), draining creams (meh), even osteopath sessions at £60 a pop.

Got my Gua Sha early January and honestly at first I was sceptical, thought "another thing that'll end up in the back of the cupboard". But NO! I've been using it every evening for nearly 2 months now, 15-20 mins watching Netflix with massage oil, and it's become my me-time.

The results: my legs are SO much lighter, that heavy feeling's basically gone! My boyfriend even said my skin was smoother on my thighs (okay there's still cellulite to tackle but it's definitely improving). And the mad thing is I sleep so much better since I do my drainage in the evening.

The jade stone stays nice and cool, it's super pleasant, and it's really easy to use with the different shapes. Honestly if you're hesitating, JUST DO IT, it's my best beauty buy of the year!

My legs de-puffed in 2 weeks

The stone stays cool throughout the whole massage, it's really lovely. I use it after my shower with a bit of oil, 15 minutes on my legs and stomach. Within 2 weeks my ankles had stopped swelling in the evenings. I'm on my 3rd month now, it's become a must-have.

Good but you need to persevere

The stone is beautiful and pleasant to use, the cooling effect is brilliant. However, the first few days I got some bruising because I was pressing too hard. And you really do need to wait 2-3 weeks before seeing anything. Now I'm starting to see my skin smoother, so I'm carrying on.

Immediate effect on that light feeling, it's amazing. The stone stays cool throughout the massage, super pleasant. I use it with a bit of oil after the shower, 15 minutes and my legs come back to life. It's been my evening ritual for 2 months now.
